The National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) just said what many of us have been saying for months.
The NPBC is the official organization representing our nation’s border patrol agents numbering 16,500 individuals.
Their endorsement, which was obtained by Breitbart Texas, said in part that the NBPC has longstanding practice of not endorsing presidential candidates in the primaries. However, “We are breaking with our past practice and giving our first-ever endorsement. We think it is that important: if we do not secure our borders, American communities will continue to suffer at the hands of gangs, cartels and violent criminals preying on the innocent.”
The NBPC statement stated, unlike his opponents, Donald Trump is not a career politician; he is an outsider who has created thousands of jobs; pledges to bring about aggressive pro-American change and who is completely independent of special interests. We don’t need a person who has the perfect Washington – approval tone and certainly not another establishment politician in the White House.
We need a person in the White House who doesn’t fear the media, who doesn’t embrace political correctness, who doesn’t need the money, who is familiar with success, who won’t bow to foreign dictators, who is pro-military and values law enforcement, who is angry for America and not subservient to the interests of other nations. Donald Trump is such a man.
The full statement goes on to say, “Our current political establishment has bled this country dry, sees their power evaporating and isn’t listening to voters who do all the heavy lifting.”
You can judge a man by his opponents: All the people responsible for the problems plaguing America today are opposing Mr. Trump. It is those without political power – the workers, the law enforcement officers, the everyday families and community members who are supporting Mr. Trump.
The statement concludes with, “There is no greater physical or economic threat to Americans today than our open border. And there is no greater political threat than the control of Washington by special interests.” The endorsement letter is signed by NBPC President, Brandon Judd.
I think the NBPC did an excellent job with framing America politically today.
In the March 31 edition of the Wall Street Journal, Daniel Henninger writes that Republicans did fight Obama policies for four years and then in the second term, “they decided it made more sense to fight each other.”
As a result, President Obama may get to preside over the destruction of his political enemies – “the Republican Party, the American Conservative movement and the public policy legacy of Ronald Reagan.”
It may well seem what is taking place during the primaries is “Obama’s greatest triumph, but it is not.” Remember in 2008, the Democrats controlled the three branches of power. In 2010, the Tea Party and their allies gave the House to Republicans, for the promise to change direction. In 2012, both the Senate and House were claimed by Republicans as were state houses and governorships. People were promised change, but got none of it.
Whose fault was that? The American people – especially Republicans – think they have been lied to about trade, open borders, amnesty, repeal of Dodd Frank and Obamacare, VA care, IRS intrusions into conservative groups, deflating ISIS, defunding Planned Parenthood and nuclear proliferation in the Middle East.
Those Washington insiders who were seen as most connected to the status quo are out of the presidential race. One way or the other, American citizens will get their “straight shooter” before we have nothing left to argue over.
