Barber to leave Branson show

July 11, 2013

The Hamner Barber Variety Show will conclude it’s tenth season with a final performance on December 14, 2013.

Jim Barber, who has co-managed and performed at the Branson theater since 2004, will be leaving the venue at the end of the year to focus his attention on other opportunities.

Hamner Barber Theater has entered into an agreement for the sale of the property with Dave and Denise Hamner assuming sole management of the venue. Details regarding their future plans are expected to be announced soon.

“It has truly been an honor and a privilege to have had the opportunity to be a big part of the development of this theater working along side the amazingly talented Hamners for the past decade,” says Jim Barber.  “I wish them much success in the future, and extend special appreciation to our wonderful staff, customers, valued ticket resellers, advertisers, and surrounding community for their support.  We invite everyone to please make plans to attend one of our final performances before the end of this season.”

“Working with Jim Barber has been one of the greatest experiences of my life,” said Dave Hamner. “He is one of the greatest talents I’ve ever known and he will be truly missed as a daily part of the operations of the theater. Both Denise and I wish Jim all the best in his next venture.”
