Bible scholars lined up for annual Prophecy Conference

An impressive array of authors and Bible scholars will speak April 20-22 in Tulsa at The Mid-America Prophecy Conference.

Presented by Bible Prophecy as Written Ministries, the conference has been held in Tulsa for decades.

The scheduled speakers include:

Author Phillip Goodman of

Thomas Ice of the Pre-Trib Research Center

Dr. Ice is executive director of The Pre-Trib Research Center, which he founded in 1994 with Dr. Tim LaHaye to research, teach and defend the pretribulational rapture and related Bible prophecy doctrines.

He has co-authored over 30 books, written hundreds of articles, and is a frequent conference speaker. He has served as a pastor for 17 years. Dr. Ice has a B.A. from Howard Payne University, a Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary, a Ph.D. from Tyndale Theological Seminary, and has done post doctrinal work at The University of Wales in the United Kingdom. Dr. Ice lives in Justin, Texas.

John Whitcomb of Whitcomb Ministries

Dr. Whitcomb’s early years (age 3 – 6) were spent in China. He spent one year at Princeton University before being drafted into the United States Army, where he served in Europe from 1944 until 1946. After the war, he returned to Princeton and earned a degree in history. While at Princeton in 1943, he became a Christian under the guidance of Dr. Donald B. Fullerton and the Princeton Evangelical Fellowship. Whitcomb entered Grace Theological Seminary as a student in 1948 where he earned a Master of Divinity degree in 1951, a Master of Theology degree in 1953 and ThD degree in 1957. He joined the faculty at Grace Theological Seminary where he served as professor of Theology and Old Testament, director of Postgraduate Studies, and other positions from 1951 to 1990.

Whitcomb was co-author with Henry Morris, PhD, of The Genesis Flood, published in 1961. The Genesis Flood marks the beginning of the modern creation movement. In addition to The Genesis Flood, Dr. Whitcomb has published a number of books on science and the Bible, commentaries, and other works.

Charles Bing of Grace Life

Bing, founder and director of Grace Life, earned his Th.M. and Ph.D. from Dallas Theological Seminary. He pastored Burleson Bible Church in Texas for 19 years before transitioning to GraceLife full-time in 2005. He has served as adjunct professor of Biblical Studies for LeTourneau University since 1992 and is a former president of the Free Grace Alliance. He has published a number of books and articles on the gospel, salvation, evangelism and discipleship.

Daymond Duck of Prophecy Plus

In 1979, Duck became a United Methodist pastor. He is a pastor, a prophecy conference speaker, and a member of the Pre-Trib Study Group in Washington, D.C. He wrote: On The Brink an Easy-to-Understand End-Time Bible Prophecy; Revelation: God’s Word for the Biblically-Inept; Daniel: God’s Word for the Biblically-Inept and Prophecies of the Bible: God’s Word for the Biblically-Inept and others.

Terry James of Rapture Ready

James has worked closely with a number of prominent prophecy authors, including the late Dr. John Walvoord of Dallas Theological Seminary; Dave Hunt; Tim LaHaye; Henry Morris; Zola Levitt; and others.

Pastor Wayne Dartez of Victory Baptist Church

Dartez is the senior pastor of Victory Baptist Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Pastor Mark Hitchcock of Faith Bible Church in Edmond, Oklahoma

Hitchcock has written more than 20 books including, The End; Wars and Rumors of Wars – Iran and Israel; Blood Moons Rising; and, Visits to Heaven and Back: Are They Real?

He was an adjunct professor at Dallas Theological Seminary. He has a doctorate degree from DTS. Hitchcock has been interviewed on The History Channel, The Glenn Beck Show and CNN.

J.B. Hixson of Not By Works Ministries

Dr. Hixson has more than 28 years of ministry experience in the pastoral and academic arenas.   Dr. Hixson has served on the faculties and adjunct faculties of nine colleges and seminaries, and has traveled to all 50 states and several countries where he has spoken in more than 500 churches and conferences. He earned his B.A. degree from Houston Baptist University, Th.M. degree from Dallas Theological Seminary, and Ph.D. degree from Baptist Bible Seminary.

He is the author of numerous books including: Getting the Gospel Wrong: The Evangelical Crisis No One is Talking About; The Gospel Unplugged: Good News Plain and Simple; The Great Last Days Deception: Exposing Satan’s New World Order Agenda; and What Lies Ahead: A Biblical Overview of the End Times.

“We are a Bible prophecy teaching ministry, respecting prophecy ‘as written’ in its straightforward, plain and literal meaning,” Goodman wrote on the website. “We are committed to teaching Bible prophecy as it was intended when given…to testify to and glorify Jesus Christ. We have no other agenda from our Lord except to live and walk according to the Word that we teach.”

The conference begins at 1 p.m. April 20 at Marriott Tulsa Southern Hills, 1902 E. 71st St. That session continues through the evening.

On April 21, the conference begins at 9 a.m. and continues throughout the day and evening. The conference begins at 9 a.m. on April 22 and concludes with a question-and-answer session that begins at 4:30 p.m. Also, there is a special sandwich luncheon for women at 11:30 a.m. (registration is required).
