Bill backs Religious Freedom

The Oklahoma Religious Freedom Act, by Sen. Josh Brecheen, R-Coalgate, is based on the exercise of religion under Article 1, Section 2 of the Oklahoma Constitution. According to the bill, “It includes but is not limited to the ability to act or refuse to act in a manner substantially motivated by one’s sincerely held religious belief, whether or not the exercise is compulsory or central to a larger system of a religious belief.”

It also opens the door for whose religious freedom has been burdened by attempts to force action to use this state law to win a lawsuit to protect their religious liberty.
