Bill of Rights Monument

The Oklahoma Senate has passed a bill that would allow for a privately funded Bill of Rights Monument to be erected at the Capitol.

The bill, by Sen. Patrick Anderson, R-Enid, passed 46-0 without debate. Anderson said there is a nationwide effort to erect these monuments at every state capitol.

Lawmakers want the people to vote on an amendment to the Oklahoma Constitution that would allow the return of the Ten Commandments Monument to the Capitol grounds.
