Tulsa County Court Clerk Sally Howe Smith announced she will not seek another term of office.
Smith began as a full-time employee in the Tulsa County Court Clerk’s Office in February 1975, became Chief Deputy Court Clerk in February 1988 and was elected Court Clerk in November 1992.
“It seems like yesterday that my deceased father, Elliott H. Howe, Sr. took me to meet Don E. Austin, court clerk, about a summer position for me,” she said in a statement. “I have thoroughly enjoyed my 45 years of service in the Court Clerk’s office at Tulsa County. I have met and worked with many wonderful people. Thank you for the support you have given me through the years,”
