Letter to the editor: Embassy in Jerusalem

I call on all of you to urge President Trump to move forward on his campaign promise to move the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.  This move was approved in the “Jerusalem Embassy Act” passed by Congress in 1995.

But since the act was passed, every U.S. president – Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama – have signed a waiver every six months delaying the move, even though Clinton and Bush promised to move the embassy during their presidential campaigns.

The Obama waiver expires on June 1, 2017.  Much of the world is opposed to this move . . . But I cannot help but believe that Almighty God is in favor of it.  Think about this:  Israel is “the apple of God’s eye.”  And when the Lord returns, He says, “I will return to Zion and dwell in Jerusalem.  Then Jerusalem will be called the City of Truth, and the mountain of the Lord Almighty will be called the Holy Mountain.”  (Zechariah 8:3 NIV) Jerusalem is the safest place – the perfect place.  And God will surely be pleased to see the American Flag flying over the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem – especially now, when it seems the whole world is turning against Israel.

Tell President Trump, “Now is the time.  Do not delay another moment.”  And let us all pray for President Trump, the United States of America, and for Israel.

“When a man’s ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.”  (Proverbs 16:7 KJV)
