Public education is getting more and more absurd.

The California Education Department is working on a statewide math framework that takes racism out of math.

What?

According to those educators, promoting the concept that “working to figure out a correct answer in math is an example of racism and white supremacy invading the classroom.”

How is math racist? According to the training manual funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (the primary private source for the Common Core), math classes make the following racist mistakes:

  • They focus on getting the “right” answer.
  • Individual answers are a higher priority than collaboration.
  • Students’ progress is tracked.
  • Students must “show their work.”
  • Grades are focused on “lack of knowledge.”
  • Learning to speak English is equated with proficiency in math.

This policy dictates that math teachers identify their own “racism” in the classroom and develop a plan to end their “white supremacy culture.” According to the policy, “The concept of mathematics being purely objective is unequivocally false and teaching it is even more se. Upholding the idea that there are always right and wrong answers perpetuates objectivity as well as open conflict.”

So, you can’t paddle a student who doesn’t behave anymore and under this policy, you can’t tell them that they were wrong when they marked that 2 plus 2 equals 5 on their math test.

Oregon defended a similar training manual on “equitable math.” This is lunacy. It is a direct effort to undermine practical education and it fosters racial conflict.

And the worst part is that after it is established on the West Coast, it will inevitably filter back into the Midwest and wind up in Oklahoma classrooms.
