Editorial: Fake news scandal hits CNN

When you fake news, it eventually catches up with you.

That’s what happened in a recent incident with CNN, the cable news network that is bent on destroying the Trump presidency.

CNN published on its website a story filled with lies about Trump. It was so blatant that CNN retracted the story and three of its veteran “journalists” handed in their resignations.

The article connected Trump ally Anthon Scaramucci (a Wall Street financier) with the $10 billion Russian Direct Investment Fund. CNN conducted an internal review of the story and Thomas Frank, Eric Lightblau and Lex Haris resigned.

Frank spent years covering Washington for USA Today and Newsday. Lichtblau won a Pulitzer Prize and was hired by CNN from the New York Times in April for the investigations unit. Haris, who ran that unit, had been with CNN since 2001.

Apparently, CNN claims to have a standard that it won’t spread a story based on a single anonymous source.

Trump responded with a tweet: “So they caught Fake News CNN cold, but what about NBC, CBS & ABC? What about the failing @nytimes & @washingtonpost? They are all Fake News!”

From day one, the liberal news media, including CNN, the Washington Post, the New York Times, NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC and others have attacked Trump. Their coverage has been overwhelming negative and extremely biased.

And now, we are getting more proof of dishonestly and a lack of ethics. Unfortunately, most major newspapers are dominated by the same liberal bias and it also filters down to most local TV stations. If you want the truth, you cannot rely on CNN.
