Family and youth festival Sept. 3-4

Bill Shepherd Ministries is presenting the “Turn on Your Light Family and Youth Festival” September 3-4 at Haikey Creek Park, 11327 S. Garnett Road.

The family-oriented Christian event will run from 1-8 p.m. Sunday and from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.

Sunday is “God bless ministers, America and Israel Day” and Monday, Labor Day, is “God bless marriages, families and Tulsa Day.” The event will honor Evangelist Billy Graham and the late Oral Roberts.

The Rev, Melissa Shepherd said, “No stronger force or prayers exist on the earth than the faith and prayers of Christian families walking in God’s love and unity… Our mission for Bill Shepherd Ministries is to help build these strong loving Christian families.”

The Rev. Bill Shepherd said, “The most effective and powerful way to resist and fight sex traffickers and child predators is with loving, forgiving and unified marriages, families, communities and the prayers of the Body of Christ in the Name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”

Organizer Bill Shepherd said activities include:

  • Classes on combating sexual predators, sex trafficking and child exploitation in shopping malls, neighborhoods and on social media.
