Gala to benefit Tulsa’s Youth Works

Youth Works will present a Roaring 20s Gala dinner and auction to benefit children in North Tulsa at 6 p.m. March 5 at the Other Side Event Center, 6904 S. Lewis Ave.

Tulsa School Superintendent Deborah Gist will be the keynote speakers. Mark Lollis and Zack Vierheller of Lollis Auctions will be the live auctioneer. Pastor Jesse Gist of the House of Glory will be the worship leader at the dinner and coaches from Strictly Ballroom will give a lesson on 1929s dancing, including the Charleston, the waltz and the foxtrot.

“At YouthWorks, we believe community transformation begins by building up the children who can lead it,” said spokesman Chris Beach. “With God as our guide, we now empower more than 200 North Tulsa youths to impact their community through a 30-week after-school program, 10-week summer leadership camp, school break camps (Fall, Christmas, Spring) and a youth-run pizza restaurant. “At the Saturday, March 5 Gala, you’ll hear what Tulsa Public Schools’ new Superintendent Deborah Gist believes are the greatest challenges facing elementary school children – especially those living in high poverty areas – and how churches can come into the schools to help the children live out their life dreams.”

The cost is $40 per person or $250 for a table of 10 and $150 for a table of five.

Make a reservation by calling 918-734-0471 or online at www.tulsaYouthWorks.org.

Harvard Meats and Perry’s Food Store are sponsors of the gala.
