A New Leaf will host its 16th Annual Garden Fest from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 16 at its location at 2306 S. 1st Place in Broken Arrow.
The six greenhouses owned and operated by A New Leaf are filled with spring annuals, hanging baskets, vegetables, herbs, and other plants available for immediate sale.
“With the state budget cuts that continue to threaten those that rely on state services, it is more important now than ever for individuals with developmental disabilities to go to work and receive a paycheck to further their independence,” said a spokesman. “Every dollar you spend at A New Leaf is a dollar contributed to help individuals with developmental disabilities. This is truly a one-stop shopping opportunity for you to purchase your spring planting needs and help a wonderful cause in the process.”
A New Leaf, a Tulsa Area United Way agency, provides individuals with developmental disabilities with life skills, marketable job training through horticultural therapy, community-based vocational placement, and residential services to increase independence and individuals choices. All of the plants featured at Garden Fest 2016 have been cultivated by individuals with developmental disabilities.
