Letter to the editor: Hillary not fit as commander

We do not need an “Aunt Hillary.” After all, we now have an “Uncle Obama.”

The “Uncle Tomism” label comes from an 1852 novel by Harriet Beacher Stowe.

According to Webster’s Dictionary, “uncle tom” is a policy of relationship between whites and blacks involving a benevolent but patronizing attitude on the part of whites and submissive attitude on the part of blacks.

This is what many white and black people have been working hard to change for the past 50 years. It seems Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., would be very sad to see someone trying to reverse progress which has been made.

What is worse than “Aunt Hillary?” It’s Hillary as commander in chief. Recall that one of our embassies was raided in Libya and our ambassador and staff were killed. For several days in advance, they were calling for assistance. Messages went to Obama’s staff. Support troops were available and yet no order was given. And I recall the plea/urgent request went to Secretary of State Hillary’s office and yet no order for assistance was given. After the deaths and destruction was done, Hillary had an answer: “What difference does it make?”
