Editorial: Homosexuality and free speech

Proponents of the Homosexual Agenda do not believe in free speech.

In their view, Americans are not permitted to hold a view that sees homosexuality as a perverted lifestyle condemned by the Bible. Anyone one who publicly challenges their view must be punished.

A recent example is former Oklahoma City Mayor Kirk Humphreys, a member of The University of Oklahoma Board of Regents and an outstanding Christian.

Humphreys was on an Oklahoma City radio show with State Rep. Emily Virgin, D-Norman and were discussing the sexual harassment of women by men when the topic of homosexuality came up. “Is homosexuality right or wrong?” Humphrey said. “It’s not relative. There’s a right and wrong, you just said it. So it’s either right or wrong. If it’s OK then it’s OK for everybody. Quite frankly, it’s OK for men to sleep with little boys, if it’s OK.”

The liberal media, progressives and homosexual activists immediately accused Humphreys of equating homosexuality with pedophilia and then began a chorus of demanding his resignation from the OU Regents.

You see, in Progressive America free speech only applies to ideas that conform to their perverse worldview. The idea that homosexuality somehow can be tied to full-tilt hedonism cannot be tolerated.

Of course, the liberals at OU rushed to disassociate themselves from Humphreys (whose family has a lengthy history of strong support for the school).

Humphreys issued a statement to clarify his remarks and affirm his support of Biblical values but that just intensified the public scorn of traditional values. Then he resigned.

Christianity aside, any culture that has embraced homosexuality has been erased. That is where America is headed.

And add free speech to the values in jeopardy.
