Editorial: Jesus Christ is the reason that we celebrate Christmas every year

America needs salvation.

Americans need a Savior and that is Jesus Christ.

At Christmas, the Christian roots of America are spotlighted. Secularists and humanists want to stop Christians from any public display of devotion to Jesus Christ. On many fronts, they have won.

Most Americans still believe in God and they believe that He created us and this world. Those who read the Bible understand that mankind has a sin problem and the solution is in faith in Jesus Christ.

It’s a free gift.

Jesus was born of a virgin and lived a perfect life. He voluntarily went to the cross to take upon Himself the sins of the world – to die for everyone. Thanks to His sacrifice, we can have restored relationships with God and we have the promise of eternal life in Heaven with Him.

Just as the Bible predicts, Jesus is coming back. We don’t know when, but the signs of His return are increasing and becoming more intense.

Christmas is a perfect time to examine our hearts and see if we have that relationship to God through Jesus. Tulsa has hundreds of churches that would be more than willing to offer counsel on how to achieve this reconciliation with God.

Jesus came as a babe 2,000 years ago. When He returns, it will be in glory and judgment.
