John Wright is named Chief Deputy in Assessor’s Office

Former state legislator John Wright has been promoted to the position of First Deputy, with the title of Chief Deputy, by Tulsa County Assessor Ken Yazel.

This will enable Mr. Wright to sit in meetings on Mr. Yazel’s behalf as a voting member.  In the event the assessor is out of Tulsa County, Wright will assume the responsibilities of assessor until Yazel returns.  It further authorizes Wright to act with the authority of the assessor if the Assessor becomes incapacitated or unable to perform his duties.

“My office conducts its business with very high professional standards on behalf of the citizens of Tulsa County.  We have received outstanding results in our annual OTC performance audits, including consecutive perfect scores the past two years.  John Wright, along with the rest of our staff, deserves a great deal of credit for our success, and I have a great deal of confidence in his abilities,” Yazel said.

Wright started with the Assessor’s Office in November, 2010.  Since that time he has received Advanced Appraiser Accreditation from Oklahoma State University, IAAO Accredited Member status, and he is currently near completion of the requirements for a professional designation with IAAO.

The other members of the assessor’s executive staff will see title changes but there will be little change to their operational responsibilities.
