Letter: Left-leaning judges on the Supreme Court

February 7, 2013
Letter from: Bertie Sherrell, Jr., Tulsa

The nine Judges on the Federal Supreme Court have many ways to determine the constitutionally of cases presented to them. Their approaches include one or more of the following:

Originalism – Judges apply original intent of our Framers.

Texualism – Judges consults actual language of Constitution.

Constructionism – Judges interprets text only.

Pragmatism – Judges supports practical approach as opposed to ideal approach.

Precedent – Judges look at past Court rulings for guidance.

Dynamic evolution – Judges approaches our Constitution as a “loose” or “living” Constitution subject to the views of our present society. (Changeable)

There are many other judicial descriptions as to their interpretations of our Constitution. Judges are not to establish precedence today only to be used as a precedent strategy for future cases.

The present administration is stacking the court with left-leaning judges soon. Its important to notify your Senate and House Representatives that a balanced judgeships is required if the will of the people is to be respected and for the survival of our present Constitution.
