Meteorologist Dick Faurot retires; Scott Thompson let go

After 24 years at KOTV, meteorologist Dick Faurot has retired.

He is being replaced by Lacey Swope, who was working at a TV station in Oklahoma City.

Faurot plans on doing some fishing in retirement.

“Looking forward to it, I know that. By the same token, you know, I’m gonna miss the daily interaction,” Faurot said on the station’s website.

KOTV has dismissed news anchor Scott Thompson, who was hired by the station in 1990. Management said the decision was because they wanted to “move in different directions.” Thompson’s last day on the air was May 25, when he said a teary farewell.

Thompson is being replaced by a younger Craig Day, who will co-anchor the news with long-time anchor Terry Hood.

No other staff changes at KOTV have been announced publicly.
