More turnpike rate increases

The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority announced that its previously approved toll rate increase of 12 percent took effect for both heavy trucks and passenger cars starting March 1.

Additional increases of 2.5 percent have also been approved to take place on January 1, 2018, and in July 2019. This represents the first increase since July 2009, when rates were raised 16 percent for both heavy trucks and passenger cars.

On the Turner Turnpike from Tulsa to Oklahoma City, the PikePass rate for customers traveling in a two-axle vehicle from Oklahoma City to Tulsa will rise to $4.40 from $3.90, while the cash rate will rise to $4.50 from $4.
