Nunley, Gaddis win in District 75 primaries

Republican Tressa Nunley and Democrat Karen Gaddis will face each other in a special election July 11 to fill the vacant seat in House District 75.

Nunley got 64 percent of the vote in the GOP primary, with Nik Berg getting 28 percent. Former Tulsa City Councilor Skip Steele got 7 percent of the vote and A.J. Oatsvall got only 1 percent.

On the Democrat side, Gaddis got 64 percent of the vote while Jamie Smith got 36 percent. Gaddis got the Democrat nomination in 2016 but was defeated by former Rep. Dan Kirby in November. Kirby resigned following sexual harassment charges.

House District 28

In House District 28, Republican Zack Taylor beat Democrat Steve Barnes with a little more than 50 percent of the vote. Libertarian Cody Presley got about 2 percent and Barnes got 48 percent.

Taylor will serve the unexpired terms of Rep. Tom Newell, who resigned.
