Editorial: Obama pushes high energy costs

President Obama wants Americans to pay for higher energy bills so he can bring us down to the level of the rest of the world rather than trying to lift everyone else up.

Obama gave a speech to the 21st session of the Conference of Parties (COP21) during the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in Paris, France.

Boiled down, Obama’s message was that America uses too much cheap energy and that if Americans don’t use less and pay more, we will destroy the environment.

Obama once famously said that the science concerning global warming “is settled.” Rarely is anything in science “settled” and he knows that but it doesn’t fit his rhetoric. If Congress would let him, Obama would impose a carbon tax that would force confiscatory taxation on Americans to the benefit of other nations.

Obama is waging war on coal, America’s cheapest form of energy. He is blocking the Keystone Pipeline, closing federal lands to oil and gas exploration and raising more and more EPA regulations to discourage oil and gas production.

Unfortunately, Obama and his ilk have scared some Americans into believing that destruction is imminent unless we take drastic steps. The truth is, nations like China and India pollute much more than the United States and they have no real plans to limit their industry to make liberals in the White House happy.

Everybody wants a clean environment. America business does more than any nation on Earth to keep things clean.

Raising taxes to justify an overblown theory on global warming to satisfy globalists from the United Nations is not a good choice for America.
