The Oral Roberts men’s basketball team put together a 10-1 run and took a lead with four minutes to play but could not sustain it in an 85-79 loss to Omaha Saturday night at the Mabee Center.
Obi Emegano scored 29 to lead all scorers and Brandon Conley missed just one shot on the night en route to 16 points. Jalen Bradley and Javan White each scored 10 points. White and Emegano led ORU to a 39-33 rebounding advantage with eight boards apiece. The Golden Eagles dominated the boards in the second half to a 21-14 advantage.
“I’m pleased with our ability to get back into the game,” said ORU coach Scott Sutton. “When we took the 1-point lead I thought we would win the game. We had good looks but didn’t knock down shots when we needed to at the end.”
