ORU wins at Western Illinois

Oral Roberts turned up the pressure in the second half, out-scoring Western Illinois 46-30 in the second stanza to earn a 77-68 win at Western Illinois Saturday night at Western Hall.

ORU got 30 points from Obi Emegano, including 20 in the second half, to lead all scorers.

ORU had a 38-34 rebounding advantage thanks to eight rebounds apiece for Brandon Conley and Albert Owens.

“What a great game,” said ORU coach Scott Sutton.  “I’m proud of our guys. Our defense was so much more active in the second half. In the first half we just kind of went through the motions and had three deflections. In the second half we had 16 and DaQuan Jeffries made some huge plays for us.”
