The bracket for the 2016 Maui Jim Maui Basketball Invitational has been revealed and Oklahoma State will face 2014 national champion Connecticut in the first round on November 21. UConn and OSU combine for six national titles and 11 Final Fours.
The game will tip off at 8 p.m. Central at the Lahaina Civic Center in Maui, Hawaii. ESPNU and the Cowboy Radio Network will broadcast the contest. The Huskies, coached by former UConn and NBA standout Kevin Ollie, are coming off a 25-11 season that included a win over Colorado in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
This will be just the second meeting between the Cowboys and Huskies, and the first since 1970. OSU won the only other matchup, 80-64, in Lafayette, La., on Dec. 18, 1970. OSU will face either North Carolina or host Chaminade in the second round. This will be OSU’s second trip to the Maui Invitational. The Cowboys went 1-2 with a win over LSU in the 2007 Maui Invite.
The Cowboys open the 2016-17 season on Nov. 11 at Gallagher-Iba Arena against Campbell.
