OSU financial session for students

January 24, 2013

Oklahoma State University will offer a scholarship and financial aid session for Tulsa area high school seniors and their families Feb. 4. The event is for all high school seniors and their families and will be at 6 p.m. at Union High School.

The presentation will guide families through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and help college-bound students make the most of funding opportunities. Both programs will feature a session to explain how the Oklahoma’s Promise award can be applied at OSU.

For more information and to register for the event, visit admissions.okstate.edu/finaidworkshops or call 800-233-5019.

“OSU awards more than $280 million in scholarships, grants and financial aid each year, but understanding the steps can be challenging,” said OSU Vice President Kyle Wray. “This program will help families navigate the financial aid process with the confidence of knowing they’re making the most of their investment.”

Students and their families should file the FAFSA as soon as possible to have the best opportunity for financial aid options. The FAFSA is available online at fafsa.gov and helps determine eligibility for federal grants, work-study, loans, Oklahoma Tuition Aid Grant (OTAG) and need-based scholarships. Priority for programs with limited funds is given to students who file the FAFSA early.

Students should also complete their application for admission and scholarships to OSU before February 1 to ensure full scholarship consideration. Students can apply online at admissions.okstate.edu/apply.
