OU beats Baylor again
Third-place Oklahoma kept pressure on Kansas and Texas with a solid 88-72 home win over Baylor Saturday.
Oklahoma shot a season-high .536 from the field and made a season-high 14 3-pointers as OU improved to 18-6 overall and 7-4 in the Big 12. Baylor fell to 14-9 and 2-8.
Buddy Hield scored 17 points in the first half and finished with 19. Hield was 5-for-8 from 3-point range (5-for-6 in the first half). He has scored in double figures in all but one game this season and now leads the Big 12 with his 3.5 3-pointers per game in conference play (shooting .442). He has scored at least 15 points in nine of 11 league games.
“Buddy (Hield) got us off to a great start by knocking down some threes against their zone,” said OU coach Lon Kruger. “Their zone is long and tough if you’re not making shots. Buddy did a good job of getting us off to a good start. Isaiah (Cousins) was terrific all night long,.”
OU hosted Texas Tech Feb. 12 and will travel to Stillwater Saturday for a 1 p.m. Bedlam matchup with Oklahoma State.
