Dr. Everett Piper personally endorsed Andy Coleman in his bid to become the next U.S. congressman representing Oklahoma’s First Congressional District.
The president of Oklahoma Wesleyan University, Dr. Piper is outspoken in matters of religious liberty and constitutional freedoms.
“Oklahomans living in the 1st District have been well served by Jim Bridenstine, our outgoing congressman, who represented us with conviction and courage,” Piper said.
“I firmly believe that Andy Coleman is the candidate most capable of carrying that baton from Jim; to be the type of authentic, conservative leader needed by our communities and country. His unique background demonstrates a willingness and capacity to serve in complex and even hostile areas.”
Coleman said he was overwhelmed upon learning of Piper’s endorsement.
“I hold Dr. Piper in absolutely the highest regard,” said Coleman. “So when I found out he was endorsing me, I was speechless. Dr. Piper brings that rare blend of grit, faith and eloquence that makes people take notice.”
Coleman has also been endorsed by Denny Garrison, the former Oklahoma State Republican Senate Leader, and Leadership Institute founder Morton Blackwell also endorsed Coleman. Coleman also announced that KaLeigh Long has been named his campaign manager.
