Planned Parenthood cuts restored

The Oklahoma Health Care Authority has reversed a decision and will fund Planned Parenthood clinics in Oklahoma City and Tulsa.

Health Care Authority attorney Nicole Nantois said the two Planned Parenthood affiliates have signed conditional one-year provider agreements with the state.

Gov. Mary Fallin had urged cancellation of the contracts after discovery of a high rate of billing errors. Planned Parenthood said those figures were exaggerated.

Planned Parenthood clinics do not provide abortions in Oklahoma. The organization came under fire last year when a series of investigative reports showed videos of Planned Parenthood officials discussing payments for body parts from abortions performed at Planned Parenthood clinics.
