Rep. Bennett to speak in Muskogee

State Rep. John Bennett, R-Sallisaw, will speak to the Muskogee Patriot Townhall meeting June 4 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Bennett will speak on, “The History of Islam: A World-Dominating Ideology.” The club meets at the Muskogee City Library.

Bennett was elected to the House in 2010 and re-elected in 2012 and 2014. He serves on the Appropriations and Budget Committee; Government and Oversight and Accountability Committee; Transportation Committee; and Joint Operations and Budget Committee.

Bennett has worked on a drug task force and is 14-year Marine Corps veteran. He did tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. He and his wife own a storm shelter business.

Also, Joe Esposito of Owasso will give an update on the status of smart meters being installed by PSO and developments from the recent legislative session.
