‘Shutdown’ showed Obama’s true policies about America
Well, the PRESBO administration is showing its true colors. They ballyhooed that a “government shutdown” would cause “irreparable harm” to the economy and everyone. Now they seem to be doing everything they can think of to see that their claims were accurate. At every turn, there are barricades to the convenience and well-being of the population and most of these actions appear to me to be more vindictive and arrogant on the part of the administration than really necessary to cut costs because of the government slow down.
Examples of the unnecessary inconvenience to tax payers are too numerous list here, but some of the more flagrant have come out (but most not carried by the national media). The first one that garnered attention, and some media coverage, was the fencing of the war memorial area in the Capitol – this despite them knowing that two Honor Flights were to be there on Tuesday, the first day.
The World War II veterans, ages 86 to 97, were not to be denied and proceeded to walk and wheelchair around the barricades on the grass.
Word of this reached the Congress and a number of, most if not all Republican, members immediately went down and removed the fences, over the protestations of a Park Service agent, who was just following orders. The next day it was reported by telephone from Congress that the barricades had been chained in place to prevent another Honor Flight contingent from access. One from Oklahoma City was, and has been for months, scheduled to arrive on October 9.
There is no doubt in my mind that the orders came from the top and shows the petulant and dictatorial mindset of the president and his lackeys.
He continues to refuse to bend on his demands for more money and an increase in the debt limit so his spending habits can continue.
They seem to, conveniently, forget that we are paying for this and it is the property of the citizens of the United States, not the private property of the government personnel to be available for viewing at their convenience.
A caller to Rush Limbaugh stated that a city-owned lake in Wisconsin, located on federal land, had been closed to use by the Bureau of Land Management. Rush advised him to contact the governor who had already sent state troopers in to open other such closures in the state. This is in keeping with the principle of states rights. In fact, it is my, and others, opinion that the federal government is in violation of its constitutional limits by owning the vast amounts of land, mostly in the western states.
While living in Colorado, information was furnished to me that the BLM was overseeing over 80 percent of the land west of the Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas borders. Such land that has been sold to individuals retained the mineral ownership, and so PRESBO is able to prevent drilling or mining on that land, and when done, the surface owner receives none of the proceeds of the production.
All this serves to prove the opinions of many of us that the top members of the administration are no more than childish-minded, dictator-oriented despots who intend to gain as much power over the people as possible and to keep it forever. They appear to consider the Constitution an obstruction to their agenda and to ignore it whenever necessary. Unfortunately, we are faced with a like-minded Senate majority who refuse to reach agreement on any proposed bills that would in any way reduce their spendthrift habits and quest for unlimited power.
In my opinion, there is plenty of blame to go around among the media, union officials sympathetic to the C/S (Communist/Socialist) agenda and lazy minded voters who believe their lies.
