Small garden help is available

Debbie Pleu, owner of Pleu Gardens and a recognized garden consultant, will speak from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on February 23 on how to create an effective food garden in a small space.

Pleu has taught organic gardening at both Tulsa Community College and the Tulsa Garden Center. She currently grows produce for Cherry Street Farmer’s Market and considers herself a backyard garden specialist.

This seminar is designed to inform the public how to create high yield from small spaces. Topics include site location, soil composition, ground level versus raised beds, and succession planting.

Pleu will also cover gardening fundamentals, insect and disease control, harvesting and post-harvest handling and storage of garden produce.
