Gov. Mary Fallin has set Aug. 8 as the date for the first round of elections to fill legislative vacancies in House District 76 and Senate District 45.
HD 76 in Tulsa County was represented by Republican David Brumbaugh, R-Broken Arrow, until his death in April.
SD 45, in south Oklahoma City, was represented by Senator Kyle Loveless, R-Oklahoma, until his resignation in April.
Filing for the offices will be June 5-7 at the Oklahoma State Election Board in Oklahoma City. The Aug. 8 election will serve as a primary if needed, or a general election if no primary is necessary.
If the Aug. 8 election is a primary for either seat, the general election for that seat or seats will be Nov. 14.
Senate District 45 covers parts of Canadian, Cleveland and Oklahoma counties and House District 76 covers part of Tulsa County.
