State unemployment rate goes down

The Oklahoma unemployment rate fell to 5 percent in December, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. That is up nine-tenths of a percentage point from December 2015. The rate was 5.1 percent in November. It has declined since its peak in September at 5.3 percent. Oklahoma gained about 3,000 jobs over the month but was still down about 5,600 net jobs in the past year.
