An Oklahoma Muslim group is mad.
Why?
Because some Oklahoma lawmakers support the Nation Israel, America’s truest ally in the Middle East.
The Oklahoma House passed HB 3967, which declares that “Israel is a prominent trading partner of the State of Oklahoma and that the state should not boycott Israel.”
The bill prohibits the state from entering into any contract with a company unless the company submits a written certification that the company is not currently engaged in a boycott of goods or services from Israel.
The prohibition and written certification requirement is applicable to any contract for the acquisition of goods or services with a total value of more than $100,000 and may be waived by the Secretary of State if the secretary determines that compliance is not practicable.
This bill does not advocate boycotting other nations. It is meant to protect the global persecution of Israel and to counter efforts in Oklahoma for enemies to prosper at the expense of our ally.
The Oklahoma Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-OK) and the American Civil Liberties Union of Oklahoma don’t like this bill and are threatening to sue if it becomes law.
CAIR, under the banner of religion, opposes the very existence of the Nation Israel. Their purpose in Oklahoma is to make Islam seem like just another religion without any political agenda. Anti-semitism is on the rise and this bill is a good step to affirm America and Oklahoma’s support of Israel.
