TPS offers revised graduation rates

Tulsa Public Schools claims its graduation rates rose from 62.8 percent for the 2013-14 school year to 67.5 percent for 2014-15 and 72.5 percent for the 2015-16 school year.

The Tulsa Public Schools “update on graduation rates” also points out that the 2015-16 number are preliminary. Even though those figures might change, TPS officials claim the graduation rate rose by 5 percent (67.5 percent o 72.5 percent) from the 2014-15 school year to 2015-16.

State records show the graduation rate for Tulsa fell from 69.4 percent in 2011-12 to 64.4 percent in 2012-13 to 62.8 percent in 2013-14.

For 2015-16, the graduation rates for Tulsa high schools were:

99.7 percent – Washington

90.4 percent – Rogers

86.0 percent – Edison

75.2 percent – Webster

75.0 percent – Central

70.2 percent – Memorial

66.2 percent – East Central

58.3 percent – McLain

56.1 percent – Hale

38.9 percent – TRAICE

35.0 percent – Tulsa MET

Oklahoma’s average graduation rate for public schools is 83 percent and that is the average for the nation.
