Truth vs. State of the Union
President Obama misled America in several areas in his State of the Union on Feb. 12.
Lie – Businesses have created six million new jobs.
Truth – America lost five million jobs since Obama took office so there has only been a net gain of less than two million jobs.
Lie – Obamacare is helping to reduce the growth of health care costs.
Truth – Health insurance costs have soared for businesses and individuals.
Lie – Public preschool for 4-year-olds boosts graduation rates, reduces teen pregnancy and reduces violent crime.
Truth – A Department of Health and Human Services study in 2012 shows that vocabulary and social development gains in pre-kindergarten programs mostly evaporated by the time those kids reached the third grade.
Lie – Obama and Sen. John McCain and Sen. Joe Lieberman worked together to battle “climate change.”
Truth – Obama couldn’t get a global warming bill passed through Congress even when the Democrats controlled the House and the Senate in 2010.
Lie – America has doubled the distance cars will go on a gallon of gas.
Truth – That is the goal for 12 years from now but is nowhere near reality in 2013. Cars must have a corporate average of 54 mpg by 2025. That is twice what is required in 2013 (27 mpg gallon average). And not all cars will get that because it is an average requirement.
If Obama were as adept at leading as he is at misleading, maybe the country would not be in such dire shape.
