TU punter Parks on Ray Guy list

University of Tulsa junior punter Dalton Parks has been named to the 2015 preseason watch list for the 2015 Ray Guy Award, the Augusta Sports Council announced.

The Ray Guy Award is presented to the nation’s top collegiate punter.

A two-year starter, Parks averaged 42.0 yards on 70 punts in the 2014 campaign, while earning honorable mention all-conference accolades. He had 20 punts land inside the 20-yard line, 14 travel 50 yards or more and 22 fair caught. Parks had a career-long 67-yarder against East Carolina and also had a 62-yard punt vs. Texas State. In 24 career games, Parks has averaged 40.8 yards on 136 career punts and has had 25 career 50+-yard punts and 40 landing inside the 20-yard line.

Parks is just one of two punters from the American Athletic Conference named to the Ray Guy watch list, joining USF’s Mattias Ciabatti.

The number of eligible candidates for this season will grow when the award opens for nominations in September. The complete list of candidates will be released on October 30.
