Tulsa wins on the road at UTEP

D’Andre Wright scored a career-high 25 points as Tulsa picked up a 74-70 Conference USA win at UTEP Saturday at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso.
Wright went 9-of-12 from the field and 7-of-10 free throws, and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Golden Hurricane, which improved to 13-11 overall and 5-5 in C-USA play. TU made 9-of-12 free throws in the final 3:09 of the game to keep the Miners at bay and hold on for the win. The Hurricane made 14-of-17 – 82.4 percent – of its free throws in the second half.
Kauri Black made 6-of-8 shots to score 13 points, and Rashad Ray added 12 points, including two three-pointers and 6-of-6 free throws.
The Golden Hurricane host Houston at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
