Unemployment falls in Oklahoma

The unemployment rate in Oklahoma fell very slightly in October from 4.5 percent to 4.4 percent while the national unemployment rate fell to 4.1 percent.

According to the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission, in October Oklahoma had 1,835,540 in the labor force with 1,755,137 working and 80,403 unemployed.

The unemployment rate in Oklahoma in October of 2016 was 4.9 percent with 90,000 out of work.

Construction jobs led the way in October of 2017 with an additional 5,800-plus jobs, followed by education and health (5,300-plus jobs) and leisure and hospitality (4,300-plus jobs).
