While touring railroad tracks in Los Angeles that were completely littered with empty packages that thieves looted and left scattered, California Gov. Gavin Newsom said, “It looked like a Third World country.”
He’s right. It looks like a Third World country that he is at least partially responsible for creating.
Homeless criminals broke into train cars carrying merchandise and scattered debris in their wake in January.
Not all homeless people are criminals but this was a gigantic property crime that shouldn’t occur in broad daylight in America. But it does in California, where streets are being overwhelmed by homeless drug addicts and alcoholics who defecate on sidewalks and threaten people who pass by.
And Newsom’s soft on crime policies are forcing retailers to close outlets in California because the laws against stealing – again sometimes in broad daylight – are ignored.
This is why droves of Californians are fleeing to other states. And it’s not just California, but major U.S. cities – all run by liberal Democrats – are making it hard to stay.
Newsom ought to apologize to some Third World countries where it is better to live than California.
