Lt. Gov. Matt Pinnell is a graduate of Oral Roberts University. He and his family attend Redeemer Covenant Church in South Tulsa.
Before Pinnell was elected Lt. Governor in 2018 (with 62% of the vote), he and his wife ran a small business. Pinnell won every county in the 2018 election.
Previously, Pinnell was director of State Parties for the Republican National Committee from 2013 to 2017, and was chairman of the Oklahoma Republican Party from 2010 to 2013.
As secretary of Tourism and Branding, Pinnell oversees the Oklahoma Department of Tourism and Recreation, Pinnell leads the state’s efforts to promote tourism, the third largest industry in Oklahoma.
Pinnell is on the Department of Commerce executive committee which focuses on small business growth, entrepreneurship, and workforce development. His background as in small business is particularly useful.
Besides his work on economic development and tourism, Pinnell has pushed for reforms in public education and the end of the teaching of Critical Race Theory.
Pinnell is solidly against abortion. He opposes the federal government overreach and he is full support of the gun rights under the Second Amendment.
While Democrats around the nation are cutting funds for law enforcement, Pinnell wants to give police the tools they need to sustain law and order.
Pinnell supported the Religious Freedom Act. He wants audits on all state agencies and he wants a return to line-item veto authority on agency budgets or zero-based budgets.
Matt Pinnell has done a good job as Lt. Governor and he deserves another four years.
