Candidates for the Tulsa municipal elections can beginning filing on June 13. The candidacy forms must be done and submitted no later than 5 p.m. on June 15.

The offices that are open are city auditor and all nine city councilors. All  are two-year terms. The mayor has a four-year term and will not be on the 2022 ballot. A filing fee of $50 (cashier’s check or certified check) made out to the City of Tulsa is required unless the candidate is filing a petition. The general election is August 23. A runoff, if needed, would be November 8.

Sample ballots for the June 28 federal, state and county primary election and the City of Sand Springs bond issue are now available using the State Election Board OK Voter Portal at oklahoma.gov/elections.org. Copies are also available at the Tulsa County Election Board Office at 555 N. Denver Ave. Sample ballots are specific to each person, said Tulsa County Election Board Secretary Gwen Freeman.

If the OK Voter Portal doesn’t have your sample ballot, it means you are not eligible to vote, Freeman said.  Call the election board at 918-596-5780. The website is www.tulsacounty.org.
