Tulsa’s DaQuan Jeffries has been selected to the Great Clips Slam Dunk Championship roster for the 31st annual State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships at Minneapolis’ Target Center on April 4.

Jeffries is one of eight men’s college basketball players selected for the event that will air live on ESPN at 8 p.m. CT. He was invited to take part after being recognized as one of the nation’s most athletic dunkers.

Jeffries was the leading scorer for the Golden Hurricane this season and earned third-team American Athletic Conference honors. The Edmond native wowed the Tulsa faithful during his two seasons at the Reynolds Center with highlight-worthy dunks that were routinely featured on the Sportscenter Top 10, including the No. 1 spot on the countdown after a dunk against Houston on Jan. 27.

Jeffries participated in three slam-dunk competitions in his life, winning all three, including titles at the Big All-City Dunk Contest and the 50th annual Oklahoma-Texas Faith 7 Basketball Classic in 2015.
