Voters who want absentee ballots in the August 23 federal, state and county runoff election plus the City of Tulsa General Election, the City of Tulsa Charter Change propositions special election and the City of Skiatook sales tax proposal should apply now, according to Tulsa County Election Board Secretary Gwen Freeman.

The deadline for requesting an absentee ballot is 5 p.m. August 8. Voters can use the OK Voter Portal at oklahoma.gov/elections/ovp. Request forms are at oklahoma.gov/elections and at the county election board office at 555 N. Denver Ave.

Voters need to allow time for the ballots to be received, completed and returned by mail to the election board.

“With some exceptions, all absentee ballots must be notarized before being returned,” Freeman said. “Voters should give themselves plenty of time to make sure all steps have been followed and that the ballot is returned correctly in order to be counted.”

All completed absentee ballots must be in the hands of the Tulsa County Election Board no later than 7 p.m. on election day.
