TULSA, Okla. –– The University of Tulsa Athletics and Andolini’s Pizza has joined forces to attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the Largest Pizza Party ever recorded prior to the Tulsa-Tulane men’s basketball game this Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Donald W. Reynolds Center on the TU campus.
The current Guinness World Record is 1,046 and was established on Sept. 8, 2019, by Istituto Romano della Pizza in Rome, Italy. Organizers are hoping that 3,000 individuals will participate in the World Record Pizza Party.
Game tickets can be purchased for only $5 in advance online only or for $10 at the gate on game day. A game ticket will be needed to participate in the World Record attempt. The doors open at 5 p.m. and the official World Record attempt will take place at 5:45 p.m. The pre-game pizza party will continue in the Reynolds Center practice gym until game time at 7 p.m.
The first 1,000 through the gates will receive a Largest World Record Pizza Party sweatshirt.
Participants will need to eat a 1/4 10-inch pizza and drink a small water. All participants need to be 12 years or older. If you are accompanied by a child under 12 or cannot eat that, they can be accompany the participant but not count toward the attempt.

If a new world record is established on that day, all participants will become Guinness World Record-holders. Representatives from Guinness will be on site to certify the attempt.
