UCF’s offensive explosion was too much for The University of Tulsa men’s basketball team as the Golden Hurricane fell 96-52 in front of 6,731 fans in the Addition Financial Arena on Saturday evening.
It was a season-high given up by Tulsa 5-19, 1-12 AAC, in points and 3-pointers as UCF found the net on 17 of its attempts. The 51 points and 11 3-pointers UCF (15-9, 6-6 AAC) recorded in the first half were both season highs for a Tulsa opponent in one half.
For Tulsa, Bryant Selebangue scored 11 and pulled down 10 rebounds to collect his ninth double-double of the season. Sam Griffin scored 10 and Charles Chukwu set a career high with nine points and five rebounds.
In all, Knights assisted on 28 of its 37 field goals. Tulsa did outrebound UCF 34-32 and held a 14-9 advantage on the offensive glass. However, TU turned it over 16 times while the Knights limited themselves to three turnovers, which led to a 22-2 difference in points.
