On Tuesday, April 4, 2023, several area elections were held.
In Berryhill, a school board election was held. Newcomer Danny Bean easily defeated Doc Geiger with 170 votes for 69.1 percent of the vote.
Bixby elected Ken Hirshey as council member for Ward #3 with 67.2 percent of the vote defeating Monica Rios with 32.8 percent. In the School Board election for Office #3, Matt Dotson, the incumbent won over Julie Bentley 1401 to 641 votes (68.6 percent to 31.4 percent).
Broken Arrow had three city council elections. In the 3rd Ward, Christi Gillespe won over Mike Lester with 62.9 percent approval. In the 4th Ward it was Joe Franco narrowly defeating incumbent Scott Eudey with 55.2 percent of the vote. In the At Large contest no single candidate reached 50 percent, Johnnie D. Parks won with 44.9 percent over 3 other candidates – William Vaughn with 36 percent, George Ghesquire with 13.4 percent and Sonjia J. Potter at 5.7 percent of the vote.
The school board seat for Sand Springs Office #3 saw Tracy Hanlon (56.8 percent) beat Rusty Gunn (43.2 percent)
In the Skiatook Ward 3 city council election Jerald Freeman, with only 165 votes cast in the election, won over Joyce Jech with 56 percent of the vote.
Finally, in the Tulsa Public Schools, Office #1 elections which saw Incumbent Stacey Woolley and Jare Buswell both vying for the seat. Woolley won out with 68.3 percent of the vote versus Buswell who collected 31.7 percent of the vote.
