The ceremony took place on Saturday, April 15 at 2 p.m. at the PAYCOM Center, 100 W. Reno Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73102.

TF Tomahawk is made up of more than 1,000 Soldiers from multiple units from Oklahoma Army National Guard’s 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, including two companies from both Nebraska and Indiana.

The deploying Soldiers will move on to Fort Bliss, Texas for post-mobilization training where they will be assessed prior to heading overseas.

While overseas, TF Tomahawk will support operations within U.S. Africa Command’s area of responsibility. While there, they will provide security support at five installations across multiple East African countries.  In addition to conventional security operations, the Task Force will man the East African Response Force.
