Both the No. 1 seeded Sooners and the No. 6 seeded Cowgirls will go on to play in the 2023 NCAA College Softball World Series to be held in Oklahoma City June 1-9.
The Cowgirls shut-out the Oregon team to improve their record for the season to 46-14. This will be the fourth straight year that OSU has advanced to the World Series.
The Cowgirls won their games against the Beavers 8-1 on Thursday to kick off the Stillwater Super Regional and 9-0 on Friday to clinch their berth at the College World Series.
They will begin play in the World Series on Thursday, June 1 against No. 3 Florida State at
6 p.m. The game will be covered on ESPN.
The No. 1 seed Oklahoma womens softball team hosted a Norman Super Regional to play the best 2 or 3 games against Clemson. The Sooners took the Tigers in two games to advance to the NCAA College Softball World Series that will be held in Oklahoma City June 1-9.
The Sooners improved their overall record to 56-1, retaining their No. 1 seed into the World Series.
On Saturday, May 26 the Sooners bested the Tigers 9-2 and on Sunday, they had a close game, but won with a score of 8-7. The Sooners broke the tie of 7-7 in the ninth inning.
OU now claims the record of most consecutive victories – 48 straight wins in the NCAA.
The Sooners next game will be in the World Series on Thursday, June 1st, at 1:30 p.m. in OKC at the Hall of Fame Stadium. They will play No. 9 seed Stanford, and it will be televised on ESPN.
