Rep. Jason Dunningham, D-Oklahoma City, wants to make it a crime for a licensed counselor to tell a client age 18 or younger that they don’t have to be a homosexual.

Dunningham authored House Bill 2456 and thank goodness, it looks like it won’t get serious consideration by the Republican-led Legislature. Other states like California and New Jersey have passed these bans on “conversion therap.” The laws are patently unconstitutional and a direct violation of the First Amendment.

Dunningham apparently believes that once you show an interest in homosexuality, that is your lot in life and no one – especially someone licensed by the state – should try to talk you out of it.

And the worst part of his proposal was that it was aimed at children.

Many people are confused about their gender as they suffer through their teen years and even later in life. It is a lie to say that someone cannot be converted from a life of homosexuality to a normal relationship with the opposite sex. It happens all the time but the liberal news media never reports it.

And as the Homosexual Agenda progresses, Rep. Regina Goodwin, D-Tulsa; Rep. Denise Brewer, D-Tulsa; and Rep. John Waldron, D-Tulsa, tried to advance bills that would give special legal status to homosexuals.

People trapped in the homosexual lifestyle have all the same rights as anyone. They don’t deserve special status because of the sexual waywardness.

Notice that these bills are written by Democrats. This is what Oklahoma will become if they ever run things again.
